Hello, and again, thank you for visiting my online portfolio. This is actually the 2nd revision this site which came as a result of wanting to try for a new look as well implementing some new techniques in HTML and CSS . Given that mood for change, I also saw it as a good opportunity to include this, the "About Section" to expand upon who I am and what it is I do.

          As to who I am my name is, of course, Joshua Markette and I am a digital media artist who currently resides on the Texas Gulf Coast. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Houston in 2007 and since leaving have since gained experience in a wide range of areas and have worked under many titles. Among these include Architectural Visualization Expert, Technical Illustrator & Content Developer, Web Author, and Video Editor & Visual Effects Technician. Though the my experience has been varied and no two work environments the same, the one truly consistent factor is that I have always loved what it is that I do. Whether it be 3D modeling and animation, web & graphic design, or even working with research and development on implementing new standards or techniques. I am most happy when I am productive and working in a creative media.

          There are some would call me "generalist". However, I have always viewed myself as a specialist in digital media. It is so wide spread and involved in so many aspects of life, both physical and online, that I find it hard to not want continue to gain mastery in as many areas as possible. With that in mind I continue to work and build upon my existing knowledge and experience and will forever see myself as still in school without a complaint. Even now, though employed outside my field due to a number of reasons and factors, that love has never waned and I eagerly await the opportunity to rejoin the digital media community.

         As to what drives me most, it is that simply the pride in my work, knowing that it is of benefit, and using what has been done as a benchmark for improvement. And so I will continue to study and work every chance I am allowed. As my work continues to becomes available I will continue upload it to this site so please make sure to check back for further updates.
